Finished and tagged 💙 This is Ace’s Big Boy Blankie™—with a name tag worthy of a legacy piece. Every stitch was knit with love, and now it’s officially his. 🧶💫
There are some projects that knit themselves right into your heart, and this is one of them. Ace’s Big Boy Blankie™ isn’t just a blanket—it’s a hug from his Amma, stitched with patience, joy, and so much love it could warm the coldest day.
This blanket was knit using my Sweetspot pattern, which plays beautifully with variegated yarns, creating waves of colour that feel like movement, memory, and magic all at once. I chose oceanic blues, soft greys, and the occasional whitecap flicker of light—a palette that feels calm, curious, and cozy, just like Ace.
What makes it extra special is the custom label from Sweet Pine Hills, a small Canadian maker whose thoughtful touches elevate the handmade. The tag is removable – snapped on with a tiny brass treaded rivet – so it can be taken off for washing and reattached with ease. One side bears Ace’s name, and the other a heart. Simple. Perfect.

The flip side of love 🫶🏼 The little heart label from @sweetpinehills says it all. This isn’t just a blanket—it’s a legacy of comfort and care. #AmmaMade
This blanket will grow with him. It may start by covering his whole body and one day only his feet, but I hope it always brings comfort. I hope he knows that whether he’s reading, sleeping, sniffling, or dreaming beneath it, I’m there with him in every row, every colour, every moment.
Some knits are practical. Some are pretty. And some? Some are pure love, made tangible.
